Overall Satisfaction with Pega Platform
The Pega Platform is implemented for our clients by our Pega consultants. The platform is used by analysts, developers and a number of other roles within a single Pega implementation project. While Pega addresses a variety of business problems, I've found that intelligent next best action is currently the hottest pain point which Pega helps to solve.
Pros
- It is exceptionally easy to translate business requirements into development items inside the Pega Platform. This speeds up development projects considerably.
- Process building tools are much more intuitive than in other CRM systems I've come across. Again, this makes new development quicker
- The UI is very responsive and stable for a browser application.
Cons
- The training website is confusing to navigate.
- The use case & added value for many features is unclear OR explained insufficiently
- I would like to see more 3rd party applications and other "out-of-the-box" add-ons like in Salesforce.
- Considerable reduction in application implementation time due to the direct capture of business objectives
- Fewer defects because of Pega guardrails
- Increased customer satisfaction due to the points mentioned above
I think Pega has the edge on business process management features. I would also recommend Pega for financial industry players, especially in the B2C environment and banks/teams working with smaller businesses. Obviously, Salesforce has a massive ecosystem with a number of benefits, but I wouldn't hold it against Pega at this point. Salesforce also has betters tool for high-level management reporting.
