Overall Satisfaction with Procore
We use Procore to manage the construction of a new museum. We share documents with the contractors, architects, and owner's rep, and we track changes in the project. Personally, I mainly use the program to find drawings and documents when I'm compiling information for internal uses. The archival features are extremely useful.
- Searching for documents
- Previewing drawings
- Noting revisions
- File downloads (particularly, the ability to combine documents into a single PDF)
- It would be great if the software could catch duplicates when there are redundant or similar uploads that should be in the same folder
- Upload drawings as .dwg files
This is the main feature that is useful to me - my function generally necessitates that I gather information from various contractors. Having documentation in one place saves me a lot of time as I'm not chasing people down asking them for copies of drawings and documents. Also, this helps ensure that I'm working from the most recent documents.
- Saves time by not needing to go to contractors and subs directly
- Ensures accuracy as we're all working from the same version
- Settles disputes between different parties by documenting changes and decisions
I've used SharePoint at past jobs and found that it was not as clean and easy to use as Procore. One feature I remember using with SharePoint was the library table of contents download - I'm not sure if Procore has this feature, but I haven't needed it because the search features are so strong.
