Overall Satisfaction with Procore

I am not a super-user, so familiarity has taken more time.
Procore was the selected PM tool for this particular project - the appointed CM was already using Procore and after evaluation of Procore and similar other PM tools, we selected Procore for roll out across the entire project to all modules other than Civil/ Building facilities. We have been using now for around 14 months.
  • It is well suited and focused on supporting Civil & Building modules
  • We were able to add some customized functionality that we needed for the project to accommodate the clients' internal requirements
  • Live updates of documentation, eg. Excel online that a team community need to access and update
  • Budget function
PPO - was used to manage capital projects for a very large multi-national FMCG company, so was more focused on core PM module management and document control. Good governance and tracking tools, no single module depth un-like Procore.
Information and flow seem more visible and the system is very accessible. sometimes the workflow threads are difficult to follow and to keep up with.
  • communication is easier
  • cloud-based services - real-time access to latest version
  • download logs
  • key to set up a simple document folder structure for easy navigation
  • real-time field based issue management
  • Gain visibility into projects
  • Ensure information is accessible and up to date
  • Document job site conditions
  • Report on incidents and inspections
  • Identify job site risks
  • Track cost impacts from the field
  • Streamline financial reporting
  • Improve forecast accuracy
Procore has been customized to support our base level of requirements for this particular project. The decision was made to only select certain modules until we had stress tested the software. Our team is constantly reviewing needs and working with Procore support to develop our needs going forward, eg. We still run some external document control manually!
It is well suited to Civils and Building construction projects from a CM perspective.

It is less suited to Process construction modules and for general Clients' perspective overall project management modules, where most often an existing process has to be replicated to provide audit functionality for governance. Thus Procore will not be able to be fully customized to meet all needs.
