Overall Satisfaction with Procore
We use Procore for Project Management. It has helped us streamline some of our processes and reduce paperwork.
Pros
- Great way to organize and store construction drawings and specs. Makes the latest version of the drawings available to everyone and they can easily see older revisions.
- Good cloud-based document management ability.
- Good tools to write and track submittals, RFI, fabrication orders, etc.
Cons
- The tools available to markup the drawings are very limited in Procore compared to other markup tools (Bluebeam, Adobe, etc)
- Procore's ability to adapt to the needs of specialized tools that contractors require is slow and cumbersome. It is difficult for them to modify their standard tools.
- Not able to transfer email documents directly to Procore. It adds an extra unnecessary step to take drawings from an email to your desktop before you are able to upload to Procore
Procore was the most complete and combined the most features that we need. The procure interface is much more user friendly and straightforward than a lot of the competitors. There are still some other software packages that we need and Procore is able to integrate with most of them. Customization could still use some work.
The cloud-based access has been great for being able to access documents in the field and office. It helps ensure that we are looking at the same thing and it is the latest version. Pictures can be automatically uploaded for all to see.
- Saved time processing documents, submittals, RFIs, ...
- Saved paper by utilizing digital drawings and documents
- Prevented rework by ensuring we are using latest version of drawings
- Ensure information is accessible and up to date
- Document job site conditions
- Report on incidents and inspections
- Track cost impacts from the field
- Improve forecast accuracy
Procore has tools to address these things and keeps a history of everything.
