Overall Satisfaction with Procore
We use Procore for our entire Project Management needs for construction use. It handles everything from financial budgeting, to cost reports, RFI tracking, submittal tracking, change orders, pay applications, drawings and specification organizations and photo management. It helps keep subcontractors and vendors on the same page with information, as it's used for bidding out projects as well. Does everything for us except handle schedules.
- Drawing management
- RFI / Submittal organization
- Financial reporting
- Invoicing
- Interfacing with Architects and Engineers
- Interfacing with Subcontractors
- Have not used scheduling feature - appeared that it didn't integrate well with programs we use
We have used Lotus Notes. That was an old, antiquated program that handles most of the items included with Procore. But there's really no comparison between the two. Lotus Notes was glitchy and cumbersome, and Procore has been quite streamlined. Many sub's now use Procore as well as Architects, so that makes it easier to use.
Depending on the project and Owner / Design Team, it's been a mix. Some use it well and others simply refuse. I have had some architects who refuse to use it, so things get generated thru Procore and then sent the old fashioned way thru emails. Then the info is backfed into Procore. Not as streamlined, but at least the organization can be maintained.
- Saved paper
- Keeps things organized all in 1 location
- Ensure information is accessible and up to date
- Document job site conditions
- Report on incidents and inspections
- Track cost impacts from the field
- Streamline financial reporting
Helps to keep all financials in a single location. We had an accountant on-board for more involvement, but has been less recently with Procore. That has helped keep accountant's billing time and costs down, however I believe Procore is still fairly expensive a service. A nice feature is the Change Event, which has changed the way I operate to document things right away.
