Overall Satisfaction with Projectplace
We use ProjectPlace for filesharing with external collaborators. The main users are in two departments. All material is in English. The business problem addressed is that our SharePoint platform that is used for collaboration internally has had problems in the past when it comes to inclusion of external collaborators. This is addressed by ProjectPlace.
- Project planning
- Project monitoring
- Document sharing
- User-friendly
- Combining projects into programmes and portfolios is possible, but not as easy.
- Simultaneous editing as supported by many other products is not possible.
- The synch functionality can be a bit buggy or at least lacks user-friendliness, making it possible for documents to come out of synch and into multiple copies.
- The pricing model and the management of the user count is cumbersome. Which users can be deleted? The model is developed around organisations locking into set packages.
- Solved a critical need to collaborate with external stakeholders
- Sparked end user interest in SaaS collaboration solutions
- Unfortunately increased costs as we on our side failed to roll out and replace all existing tools in the organisation
- Huddle, Dropbox for Business, MS SharePoint / SQL, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Server and Trello
Projectplace provided the best combination of file sharing project management functionality. The tool is unparalleled if considering its user-friendliness. Furthermore, as a SaaS solution, it does not require on-site installation and maintenance. The tool is stable and secure and offers great potential to grow into more advanced functionalities. In terms of cost it is somewhat higher if compared only in terms of GB, but when taking the added project management features into consideration it is very competitive.
