Overall Satisfaction with Prophix

Our company mainly uses Prophix for financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. However, we do use Prophix for other smaller projects. The accounting and finance teams are the majority of our users. Few members of the operations team use the software to review financial information on a monthly basis.

Prophix was originally purchased to solve a budget need for one of our divisions. It was then implemented across the company for all budgeting needs. Since then, we have discovered that there are multiple other uses for the software, and we have expanded over the years.

Prophix has allowed our company to transition 95% from excel workbooks to the system. We now are able to have templates and ad hocs that allow for easy data entry along with calculations. Since we are not relying on excel to house our budget, we no longer have to be concerned with files not opening and data being lost or accidently changed.
Importing data has come very easy, and has greatly reduced the concern for missing data. Our company imports data via Excel for annual budgets, and imports data directly on a daily bases from Great Plains. Our processes have been created and need very little updating. The process that has been created for bringing actuals over from Great Plains is set up to run automatically daily as well as on-demand.
It's very important to have that flexibility and to know that the user companies have the ability to choose what fits their companies needs. Our company has chosen to be fully cloud-based. We migrated to the cloud about a year ago.

Prophix would be well suited for any company that is using Excel for their budget or forecast. The software will reduce the amount of time that is required year to year. Also, it will reduce the probability of human error.

Growing with Prophix

Most important lesson is to thing through the set up and configuration of the system. These are the building blocks. if there is a block missing from the wall it's not as easy as one would think to go fix it later down the road
Overall it has been a really good experience. The Prophix team we helpful during the sale of the product to migrate to the cloud. The implentation was very hand on by a great team from Prophix and they continue to support us on a regular basis.

Using Prophix

Our company is not currently using all of these features but we heavily use line item details. We rely on line item detail to assist in our monthly rolling forecast and annual budget. We carry the details over every year to help user know exactly what they need to add to their budgets and remind them of the types of thing they need to think about.
Our company recently has starting to automate our month end reports. This has become a time saver and reduced the chances of human error. It has allow our team to focus on other tasks that we were not able to do before.
40 - Accounting
1 - We have one administration that maintains Prophix in house. They need to keep the reports updated, model managed, trouble shoot any user issues and maintain over all health of our Prophix environment.

Integrating Prophix

The integration is extremely easy to set up and maintain.

Great plains feeds all of our financial transaction and entries to Prophix. It was extremely easy to set up and to have the data updated with Prophix on a daily basis.

The system is very user friend and easy to navigate. There is a home page that can be customized depending on what a user needs and there is a main drop down that navigate everyone to where they want to go in the system.

Relationship with Prophix Software

The vendor was extremely helpful, very knowledgeable and friendly during the sale
They continue to work with our company on a regular basis. The support team is responsive and helpful with any problems or concerns that come up.
Be open and honest with what you want from the system. They also provide the chance to talk to other companies that use Prophix, take them up on that offer. It's always good to hear how other companies like yours is system the system and the experience they have had.

Yes - Yes it was. One of the first bugs that we discovered when migrated to the close had a patch that was released quickly to all companies that use Prophix.
Prophix has worked very closely over the past 2 year to assist myself in making sure that our migration to the close went smoothly. In addition to that they have continued to work with me on a regular basis to enhance performance due to our system not being where it needed to be because of a prior administration not maintaining the system. Prophix has going out of their way to make sure our needs are met and continued to be met.
The Prophix support team has been one of the best support teams that we have worked with. Ticket response time is minimal, and the support team is very knowledgeable.
