Overall Satisfaction with Raiser's Edge NXT

Raiser's Edge and Raiser's Edge NXT (RE NXT) are only used by Georgian Court University in the Office of Institutional Advancement. Because we do not have any full-time front-line fundraisers, right now RE NXT is being used by 2 or 3 staff members on a limited basis. As we get more front-line fundraisers, they will be expected to use NXT only. The business problem it addresses is that it makes it more convenient for front-line fundraisers.
  • Love the analyzing - don't love that we can't include/exclude certain solicitors - it's all or nothing
  • Love the tags - but having some issues identifying on what data they're based
  • Provides easy access to records - but raises security concerns
  • Filtering options, for example only want to include certain alumni classes or when looking at solicitors' records, ability to include or exclude certain ones
  • Clarity on what information tags are based
  • Consistency between RE 7 and RE NXT, especially in regard to financial rating/tags/information
  • Operational Efficiency
  • Increased revenue from new donors
  • Increased revenue from existing donors
We just started using NXT and we do not have any full-time fundraisers, so no objectives have been met yet.
We have used multiple Blackbaud products since we became a customer in 2007 and have found it more simple to deal with one vendor rather than several. Likewise, however, there is always the concern of becoming stagnant by using the same vendor over and over.
Raiser's Edge NXT is:

  • Well suited: at an event and meeting someone with whom you are not familiar - it's very easy to excuse yourself and look them up in NXT
  • Less appropriate: generating paper profiles
