Overall Satisfaction with Raiser's Edge NXT
We use RE NXT with several of our clients. At this point in time, it is really only being used by major gift officers as the gift entry, primary reporting, etc., are all still done in RE7. RE NXT helps the MGOs to access information on the go, enter actions and notes in real time and easily contact donors. It also helps with metrics and maintaining portfolios.
- Access data on the go - means fewer paper reports need to be printed.
- Allows MGOs to enter their own data as they go - keeps the database more up to date and eliminates the need for MGOs to email support staff with their meeting notes, etc.
- Helps manage portfolios of donors so that it doesn't require as many reports to be run and users can easily see who they need to contact when they first log in to the system.
- RE NXT is not a stand alone product just yet. It still requires RE7 for daily tasks (such as gift entry).
- RE NXT has a different log in than RE7. This is confusing for some users.
- RE NXT requires that an organization host RE with Blackbaud. This means that software updates cannot be scheduled for the organization's needs - they just happen on the back end.

RE NXT has been great for our clients. It has done what we thought that it would do.
Blackbaud has great products, but I feel that their customer service/support has been on the decline. Their resources for director level positions don't help me on the data side of things and I have had a harder time getting the help that I do need on the data side lately. They have been restructuring their departments, so I am hopeful that this is merely a rough patch.
