Overall Satisfaction with Remote Desktop Manager
Remote Desktop Manager is one of the most important tools for my IT team. We use it not only to share the remote desktop sessions, but for our SSH, Telnet, web access, including sharing our passwords (using Password Vault Manager from the same developers). Before using Remote Desktop Manager, we had to use the Remote Desktop Client from Microsoft, trying not to get lost among all open windows. Over time, it quickly becomes difficult to manage, especially when you must know names, IP and/or access to these machines. With Remote Desktop Manager, we share a database within the team, so everyone has access to configurations according to groups and roles. Thus, Remote Desktop Manager makes it easy to work with hundreds of servers.
Pros
- You share a database within the team, so you are all sync with the configurations.
- You can configure folders/sessions/credentials based on group and roles.
- All sessions are shown in a very effective ways, including tabs for connected sessions.
- Multiplatform, I use it on my Mac, my Windows and my cellphone.
Cons
- Because they use the Windows RDP Client in thebackground, it's very memory consuming.
- It is a password manager and remote control management console. You can spend all your time inside Remote Desktop Manager without needing anything else.
- RoyalTS, Remote Desktop and Chrome Remote Desktop
No other product work as good as Remote Desktop Manager when using more than one type of session (SSH, VNC, TV, etc), for more than one employee. Trying to share a Database with the other product is crazy, you will spend more time "working around" than doing your Jobs. You may want to try Windows Remote Desktop Client with Keepass, but you won't get close.
