Overall Satisfaction with RUN Powered by ADP®
RUN is used to process payroll, year-end documents, manage hr. concerns, and benefits.
Pros
- Process payroll.
- Administer benefits.
- Process payroll taxes.
- Manage PTO accrual.
Cons
- Should not require an administrator to use their personal phone number to verify the account. personal property should not be REQUIRED for business.
- Updating accounts when a new payroll item is introduced is challenging. I added Roth 401 (k) to employee deductions. The Roth GL account isn't self-explanatory.
- More productivity.
- Good benefits administration.
Paperless. However, we have had several instances when the employee had a difficult time creating/confirming her account via the app. The process is not as user-friendly as some other functions.
Automatic error flagging has notified me when an employee is out of PTO. automatic tax deduction/filing is a lifesaver. The payroll process overall is very user-friendly.
I only use the mobile app to view my pay stubs, etc. I do not use the mobile app to manage HR/payroll.
Switched to ADP because QuickBooks Payroll did not function properly and lost employee data.

1 - We have one person in-house to support RUN Powered by ADP. That person has a wide range of skills depth of experience including human resources, payroll and accounting experience. General ledger experience is an exceptionally good skill to have in order to correctly match RUN's GL description to our accounting GL description.

Evaluating RUN Powered by ADP® and Competitors
Yes - It replaced QuickBooks. QuickBooks had a malfunction with processing payroll and retaining data. A corrupt data file was unable to be corrected

- Ease of Use
Cloud Solutions: It is very important that we be able to access payroll processing from virtually any where.
Ease of Use: the basic tasks are simple and easy to prepare even for those with limited experience.

I would ask for a free thirty days trial period to evaluate each software program for function, compatibility, scalability, and ease of use. I would take detailed notes of each program prior to making a final decision. Due to our previous payroll processor's malfunction we had to make a split second decision in order to ensure timely processing of our next payroll.
RUN Powered by ADP® Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was a major issue with the implementation - Our need to implement was due to an emergency malfunction of our previous payroll processor. We did not have time properly train users nor employees prior to implementation. Nor did we have time to properly vet RUN or compare it to any other payroll process systems. However, we are pleased with our selection
- the ADP implementation team executed almost flawlessly

I was having a difficult time creating a log in account as an administrator. I reached out to the District Manager Megan Kehoe. She came to our offices to personally fix the problem.
Additionally, she implemented our workers compensation policy with minimal effort on our part.
