Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We are using Sage Intacct as our financial accounting software that does GL functions, revenue recognition, billing, and reporting all in one. This has streamlined our processes for accounting and automated many of our reports.
  • Intacct provides a solid audit trail and varying levels of control that give our auditors confidence in the system.
  • Intacct provides a lot of functionality with custom fields, smart rules and smart events. This allows each company to really customize the system to work for them without having custom work done.
  • Intacct has great integrations with many companies like Salesforce and Expensify, which is helpful in automating the transfer of massive amounts of data.
  • Intacct does not have good reports for deferred revenue that help tie movement from the balance sheet to the income statement within a month.
  • Intacct support takes a long time to resolve issues, and overall isn't very helpful unless you pay extra for support.
  • There are some silly limitations with the Contracts module like inability to show rate and quantity on invoices and inability to invoice across contracts with the same customer.
  • Intacct has had a positive impact on automating our processes and reporting, which has allowed our team to spend their time on other things.
  • Intacct has made our billing difficult by not adding rate and quantity in the Contracts module to invoices, and the lack of integration with Stripe, a popular payment system, has slowed down our processes, creating manual work for some team members.
  • Intacct has helped us streamline our processes and clean up our data in many areas such as ASC 606 and other underlying contract data.
Our organization has benefited from the level of information that the system provides out of these core areas, but our processes in these areas are not faster than before.
Contract revenue management has greatly impacted our organization. The system breaks down revenue into billed, unbilled, and paid, which provides more insight into where your revenue is in the process. Additionally, the automation of this revenue moving through the process has saved our team so much time at month end. Our reconciliations have decreased from days to hours.
The documentation provided has been very helpful, and the system integrates with several other software that many customers already use.
We chose Intacct over FinancialForce due to price.
Sage Intacct is well suited to greatly improve your reporting by using the various different dimensions available and also utilizing custom fields. Intacct handles deferred revenue, revenue recognition, and unbilled AR very well, but the reports that prove out these numbers are lacking. These should be standard with the system, but unfortunately, the interactive customer report writer will have to be purchased to access them once available.
