Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct is the main application serving the accounting department of our company. We have a team of 15 people in the Finance & Accounting department who rely heavily on this application in a daily basis in order to book all transactions and for financial reporting purposes. In my role i have assisted with the implementation and maintenance of the different environments.

Pros

  • Sage Intacct is a user-friendly application, our accounting team has learned to use the system quickly and without any problems after going through just a short training program.
  • From the implementation perspective, I feel like the system has the right tools to customize it for the needs of the company, and it comes with robust yet simple to use report building capabilities.

Cons

  • We have experienced the need to have more functions in the AP module, like being able to route a multi-department invoice request to different managers for approval, which we can't currently do.
  • From the moment we implemented the system a little over a year ago, we have tripled the number of users in the application, and we feel we are getting the best return of our investment as we continue to grow as a company, and more user can do their job thanks to this application.
  • We are now looking to have a new environment added to our account to migrate another company of ours that is currently on different accounting software into Intacct in the first quarter of 2020.
We have benefited mainly from the automation on the general ledger module, given that it is the most substantially used portion of the system for us.
We used the multi-entity module, and it is the core of our company give that we have many entities within our company. We think it is great that we can have a system that offers a multi-entity distributed environment.
We did a simple integration with Expensify that works perfectly, and I have read a lot about the integration capabilities of this system, which is one of the main drivers of why we choose Sage Intacct.
Netsuite and MAS 500
Compared to other systems I have previously worked with, Sage Intacct has been by far the best system I have worked with for accounting purposes.
