Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
We use Sage Intacct as our core accounting system: GL, AR, AP. Additionally, we use the contract module to ASC 606 revenue recognition and integration with Salesforce.
Pros
- Contracts Module is quite customizable and manages most of our revenue and billing.
- Integration with Salesforce helps prevent duplicate manual entries.
- Solid core GL, AR, AP functions.
Cons
- The Contracts module is complex and difficult to wrap your head around. Training is lacking especially upon initial setup when you are trying to figure out how all current contracts should be imported.
- Digital Board book is difficult to setup correctly.
- Using Intacct we've been able to go from one product line to acquiring and fully integrating 3 more companies/lines while keeping the increase in headcount to a minimum.
- Intacct has greatly expanded our reporting capabilities and once reports are designed to specification they can be memorized and run with a push of a button, vastly cutting down on previous manual work done in Excel.
We have not yet taken advantage of many of the automation processes available in Intacct.
The only advanced module we've used is the contract revenue management. It was a huge pain in the butt to implement and took a very long time. However, it has laid a foundation to significantly decrease monthly setup and revenue recognition while allowing us to report under ASC 606 without massive amounts of Excel work.
