Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Our organization uses Sage Intacct across the whole organization, including multiple legal entities. It is our core Accounting System and is responsible for all of our financial reporting. It unifies financial data from a variety of sources such as payroll, T&E expenses, accounts payable, purchasing and inventory and is accessible by all colleagues responsible for those various functions.

Pros

  • It handles Multi-Entity Account well.
  • Its Dimension capabilities are invaluable in financial reporting for analytical purposes.
  • It interacts with a huge number of one solution products so we can use third party products as needed, but the data comes back to the source of Truth in our organization, Sage Intacct.

Cons

  • Report distribution automation is clunky. It could be significantly improved.
  • Having to choose between a report based on Dimension Groups OR Account Groups is very limiting, there should be a way to accommodate both in the same report.
  • Not being able to run a fixed asset report across legal entities is awkward.
  • Positive impact on decision making, more data, better data, configurable data.
  • Positive impact on collaboration between colleagues, departments and Board.
  • No negative impact but Sage Intacct is an investment of time and money.
Although, like any software, there [are] idiosyncrasies, Sage Intacct has very good training options. Sage does good communication on new releases. Action[s] are intuitive often, but not obscure even when not intuitive. The Sage Community help is very valuable.
As mentioned previously, Sage Community is good. Online help is good. I haven't needed to speak to support often but I feel support time response might be long.
We haven't taken advantage of automation thus far.
I wasn't involved in our original configuration but we have been able to edit dimensions since set-up and it has gone smoothly.

Do you think Sage Intacct delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Sage Intacct's feature set?

Yes

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

Yes

We outgrew Quickbooks a few years ago. Sage Intacct is much more comprehensive. We selected it for its comprehensiveness, ability to integrate with other specialty software (specifically QStock, Tallie, Bill.com, ADP). We especially value its ability to handle intercompany transactions as we have many related companies and are growing.
Well-suited to multiple location companies, multi-entity companies, multi-product line companies. I would think it is less suited to very small companies and to very simple companies. I think it is complex enough that you probably need an accounting/finance team rather than just 1 or 2 people. It think it is good if you are migrating from an excel-based environment because the import capability is easy.
