Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Sage Intacct is being used as our ERP system, primarily by the finance team but also by our operations and sales teams for reporting.

Pros and Cons

It is fast, cloud based
You can easily post and edit transactions, be it journal entries, invoices, etc.
Accessing your data is very easy as well. The system is very flexible for reporting

Dashboards tend to be slow to load
Inventory module is not as user friendly as it could be
Custom solutions do not always work properly and require follow up with development

Return on Investment

It has saved us time
It is great for tracking, reporting/repository purposes
It has an open architecture so you can easily integrate other software products

Usability

Overall, I really like Sage Intacct, especially compared to other accounting systems I have used. It has significantly more functionality than QuickBooks but is much less clunky than Oracle.

Yes we have benefited. It is very easy to access information quickly in the system. Processing entries and AP/AR transactions is also very easy to do, especially with additional software implementations we have done to integrate more programs.

Alternatives Considered

QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

Our company had outgrown Quickbooks and really needed a software that could fully support project accounting and increased volume of transactions. We also needed a program that had more sophisticated controls.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Sage Intacct is very well suited for a small to mid-sized company that wants an easy to use software that is more robust that Quickbooks. It is also ideal for a company that needs the flexibility to be remote and be able to access the software from anywhere. It is very easy to use and much more sleek than some of the accounting software giants like Oracle and SAP. Intacct comes with a pretty easy to use out of the box solution but it is important to note that each module and add on increases the price so it can become costly quickly!
