Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Sage Intacct is being used as our principal accounting system for the City of Carlisle. All accounts payable and receivable functions are processed in this system.

Pros and Cons

The software is user friendly.
The accounts payable function offers several means to process payments efficiently.
The Cash Management function has been simplified, so reconciliations are more streamlined.

Making the financial reports accessible with fewer steps would be great.
Allow for multiple windows to open throughout the program so switching screens would be easier.
Update the forgot my password so users can actually access the function instead of having to contact IT.

Return on Investment

The ease of reporting is a positive impact.
The correction of errors is a negative impact.
Auditors seem to be familiar with it so that is a positive impact.

All of the functions mentioned above are used by this office. Sage Intacct is used for accounts payable, accounts payable, general ledger and financial reporting. We do not use order management, as we do not offer this service in our municipality. The city has benefited from the programs mentioned that are currently in use.

Sage Intacct Extensibility

We do not have access to the capabilities mentioned above, therefore, they have not had positive or negative impact on the City of Carlisle.

Sage Intacct Configuration

10. Our system was configured by the vendor, however, we were trained to add data entry points ourselves so we could continue to do this without the aid of the vendor. Our vendor is very helpful in times of need, and are very quick to respond to any questions we may have.

Intuit Payroll

I took a course on this program, however, I prefer Sage Intacct better because I was more familiar with it.

Likelihood to Recommend

The program is suitable for small governmental accounting functions and reporting. We have had success in inputting information that is relevant to the business, however, there are some functions that are not necessarily needed for a smaller department. It would be beneficial to any small accounting firm or municipality to use this system.
