Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Revenue Recognition - we need a tool to manage over 1,000 contracts, MEA allocations, ASC 606, and automate revenue recognition schedules. Sage Intacct also integrates directly into Salesforce. First, opportunities are created in Salesforce, then converted into contracts. Contracts sync to Sage Intacct and a GL posting is created (debit to unbilled AR, credit entry to unbilled deferred revenue). Sage Intacct then builds out the revenue recognition schedules, reallocates revenue based on our MEA Price lists, and accommodates our usage billing scenarios. We import usage data monthly and revenue is automatically recognized accordingly.

  • Less time re-working reconciliations
Sage Intacct is great at tracking and automating aging items and its matching features save us time during reconciliations. Sage Intacct automates most of our revenue recognition process which helps simplify the audit experience because exceptions are few. Automation is standard in the software so it can be considered a best practice and not cause concern for auditors.
Sage Intacct contracts module is an essential module if you have a complex and high volume of clients. Investment in the subscription will save your accountants valuable time during the month-end close because they will not need to spend as much time on deferred revenue reconciliations and revenue recognition activities. Sage Intacct also automates the global consolidation process by easily converting multiple currencies into a base currency.
We implemented Sage Intacct with a VAR partner and enjoyed the experience. Sage can also provide professional services to install the software however, there may be a waitlist due to the demand. Your best bet is to find a reliable VAR to complete the install. Sage Intacct is helpful during the process because they perform quality checks before you go live and they also check in from time to time.

Yes

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

Yes

Sage Intacct is more user-friendly compared to NetSuite however, I prefer NetSuite's report builder. Sage Intacct has multiple report builders but it is often a learning process to know which ones to use and you may find yourself switching between the two tools often. Although, NetSuite shows comparative financials and multiple currencies without needing to create a custom report. Sage Intacct's help and support are a lot easier to work with compared to NetSuite. The rest of the modules are virtually identical; so it comes down to the trade-off between these two features.
Sage Intacct feels like an extension to Salesforce. The integration is seamless and many of the UI elements are similar. Sage Intacct is an obvious improvement compared to Xero and Quickbooks. It is also a more user-friendly tool compared to equivalent tools like Oracle NetSuite. The help menu is very friendly and each help page is customized for the configuration currently deployed in your environment.
