Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct was our full ERP solution that captured and reported on all of the data from our integrated systems. We used it to generate reports for month-end reporting, budget analysis, and flux analysis and generated dashboards for various department heads so they could quickly view their status and self-serve answers to common questions.
  • Dimensions are the building blocks for custom reports
  • Drilling into details is as easy as clicking on anything that's a link
  • Permissions are fairly customizable by user or role, allowing for controls and segregation of duties
  • The Fixed Asset and Prepaids modules could be updated to match the usability of the rest of the product.
  • The Charge Payoff screen should have a "match transactions" feature like the bank/credit card reconciliations do.
  • Very large transactions (AP bills and JEs with over 500 lines) take a very long time to load and sometimes crash in a Chrome browser. If you need to edit one mistake, it's almost easier to reverse the entry and re-upload via csv.
  • The reports we've been able to build directly in Intacct have saved us time from doing them manually every month
  • Since we've adopted a "continuous close" mindset, we can have our reports and dashboards set as real-time indicators of performance
We did not use much automation.
Have not used those modules.
We hired a consultant to help us implement and configure Sage Intacct. I don't think we had much communication with Sage directly. I had used Sage Intacct at a previous employer, so I knew a fair amount about how we should set up dimensions and workflows. Our consultants offered suggestions and built a few SmartRules, SmartEvents, and reports for us. For someone who has not previously used Intacct, especially if coming from a much simpler ERP, I could understand them being confused by a lot of the discovery questions during implementation.

Do you think Sage Intacct delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Sage Intacct's feature set?

Yes

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

Yes

I have not used other products enough to have a good comparison.
Sage Intacct is very well suited for mid-size companies with complexity in their accounting or reporting processes and a high volume of data. While Sage is focusing efforts on making Sage Intacct a best-in-class for all processes, using disparate systems is still the way to go for things like expense reports, asset management, PO requests, sales contracts, corporate card use, and payroll. Sage Intacct does integrate very well with a lot of those systems, and suggests their partners on the Sage Intacct Marketplace.
