Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Going from QuickBooks to Sage has allowed our organization to work at a "high level" rather than logging into and out of 4 to 7 different LLCs throughout the workday. We are a rapidly growing organization, and Sage's versatility has helped our Accounting Department reduce the amount of time it takes to close the books and complete our required tasks.
Pros
- Safeguards to protect fraud.
- Multi-dimensional across entities.
- Checks and balances for segregation of duties.
Cons
- Reversing a single transaction in a multiple transaction journal entry.
- Retro adjustments to principal and interest payment disbursements in previous months (for period-interest loans, which reflect the details of your payments in subsequent months).
- Specific "steps" or suggestions on alternative task applications when an error message occurs.
- We are currently implementing a PO/Purchase Order System for our Project Managers. When we worked with Quickbooks, and as a normal business process, our employees were essentially allowed to make their decisions on their own. We now have a flow-thru process which will require them to obtain advance permissions and approvals prior to initiating a purchase of a large expense. This allows us to stay within budgets more efficiently.
- We have a number of off-site employees who work at various locations around the state. Having a cloud-based ERP system allows for faster access, and we've encountered fewer technical difficulties since migrating to Sage.
- Sage is a popular ERP and Accounting software system. I took an Accounting Information Systems course, and Sage was a large focus of study in that particular class. It's great to know that the educational tools I've paid for and invested in are being used in the workforce. Employers are specifically looking for candidates who have experience working with Sage.
The import template provided by Sage Intacct to customize our data specific to each entity and organization has been highly beneficial for financial reporting and expense tracking. We can drill down to the property location, building, unit, etc., and specific data can be utilized to give us a more accurate snapshot of our financial position.
The expense management system in Sage has been much more robust than our expense reporting within Paylocity, our payroll processing software vendor. The multi-entity and global consolidations for expense and project management allow our associates to stay logged in at a high level and input their data without switching companies.
The compatibility for Integration with other popular software programs makes Sage Intacct the obvious choice for our multi-entity organization.
