Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We utilize Sage Intacct in our organization as our primary source of business. We are able to offer bookkeeping services to our clients utilizing the Sage Intacct system to house their data. Intacct allows us to provide a specific product for each of our clients. Most other products like Quickbooks falls flat in being able to upscale a business and offer complex customizations in reporting, tracking, etc. The biggest business problem that this product has solved for many of our non-profit clients is the ability to utilize multiple dimensions to track various grants, projects and funders. As a company, this allows us to elevate our ability to serve our clients in a way that is custom to their business, and has been invaluable for our clients in terms of being able to build out reports that fit their needs. Customer service and our representative have also been helpful in response times to ensure our clients continue to receive excellent service.

Pros

Cons

  • The times that maintenance is performed. As a customer out in Hawaii, we constantly have the system going down before our work day has ended
  • Successfully able to compile federal funding report for multi-year grant that was previously not something the non-profit organization could compile with the previous system they were utilizing, which was invaluable in helping to secure additional grants for the organization.
  • As a company offering bookkeeping services, Sage Intacct's functionality and dimension tracking has allowed us to secure multiple clients on this alone.
The automation functionality of Sage Intacct has created an additional layer of internal controls that allows you to book recurring journal entries rather than remembering to post them within the frequency that may be required for any given scenario. The integration features with other programs like BILL make it easy to transfer data between softwares and ensure completeness of data is transmit between the two, with an easy way to reconcile/troubleshoot. Being able to set up recurring bills and invoices have also taken out the responsiblity on any given individual needing to remember to remit this data.
I have not personally utilized any of these additional modules aside from the customization services. Customization services allows our company to integrate other programs such as BILL Spend and Expense, and BILL AP and AR, and Expensify. The ability to integrate these products together takes our product offering to the next level, and allows our company to differentiate itself from other competing firms.
I work on implementations of bringing clients over from a legacy system over to Sage Intacct. I have had nothing but positive experiences in setting up clients. Intacct has a great offering of canned/standard set up options, which allows clients with a straightforward business to get set up with ease. The small thing that I appreciate with Sage Intacct is that in a new environment, it will have check marks next to the items in set up that you have already completed, which gives you peace of mind on what still needs to get set up, rather than duplicating work that may have already happened. If ever we are undergoing a more involved implementation, the help of a Sage Intacct specialist was never far away, and has helped us solve many unique situations. They provide invaluable insight on how specific businesses might best utilize the Intacct software.
I've mentioned earlier that Intacct is unmatched in their capabilities. Other programs, such as Quickbooks, or even other iterations of Sage software like Sage 100, does not compare to those of Sage Intacct. I believe Sage Intacct is the most user-friendly in terms of being able to navigate around in a natural and organic manner. I think for accountants, it would be easy to pick up without training. However, the trainings offered by Sage University also helps to elevate the way that a user is able to utilize Sage Intacct.

Sage Intacct is well suited for customers that are looking for a program that can do much more than what other software systems can offer. The biggest thing I love is being able to access Intacct anywhere. Other things that I love about Sage Intacct is that the interface and flow of work is user-friendly for an accountant. A lot of the functionality is the way you can export data easily and create custom views in case the canned options don't work. It really allows for each company to customize this system in a way that works best for their line of business. I think an instance where Sage would be less suited for a business, is if it's a very straightforward, small company that doesn't have many intricacies in terms of recording or reporting requirements.
