Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Sage has helped streamline our accounting processes and shorten our close process to under seven days.
Pros
- Integration with banking platform.
- Reporting customization.
- AP automation.
Cons
- Inventory adjustments always come up with $0 cost.
- Discounts applied on vendor bills also apply to sales tax.
- Retainage (AR) has been a bear to set up.
- Shortened month end close process by 5 days.
- Allowed us to go paperless.
- Save 10+ hours per week compared to our pre-Sage AP processes.
We have only just started the automation processes for accounts receivable and accounts payable but have been generally happy. Early indications show that we'll be able to save a decent amount of time and reduce errors pretty drastically.
Consolidations of multi-entity reporting have been great thus far, very easy to manage, and the reporting has been spot on compared to my manual reconciliations. We leveraged the payroll functionality before a switch to Paycom and were generally positive. Project accounting, including percent of completion (over/under) has been decent at best thus far, with no ability to easily drill into the actual expenses.
Sage is head and shoulders above any Quickbooks iteration and comparable to NetSuite. The differences are likely personal preference between Sage Intacct and NetSuite, my leaning is toward NetSuite but largely due to how comfortable I was with their system. Our business used Sage 100 prior to Intacct so the conversion was supposed to be seamless, hence our decision.
