Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business One

Due to a spin-off, last year our company was faced with the decision of which ERP to use. In the previous years, we were using SAP R/3. We chose SAP Business One because is more suitable for small and medium scale enterprises (like us) where the business processes are more flexible. Moreover, we were looking for a cost-effective solution whereas R/3 is meant for large scale enterprises having multi-country locations and where budget is not much
of a concern.
SAP Business One does not have all the functionalities as that of R/3 but the functionality list is slowly increasing.
Regarding the implementations and consultant's skills, the SAP Business One consultants are
certified in all the modules. In SAP ECC, the consultants are certified in one or two, so the teams needs much more consultants in SAP Business One. At the end, we decided to move to SAP Business One.

  • Multi-currency capabilities- SAP Business One only does the real-time conversion at a period closing, but can simulate an approximation of the conversion for mid-period reports.
  • Ancillary system applications such as HR have pared-down feature sets
  • SAP Business One is intentionally designed keeping flexibility in mind
  • This software can be deployed on-premise or on cloud and you can change the on-premise hosting to cloud anytime in the future
  • It is designed from the ground up. SAP Business One is an affordable product that is quick to install, easy to use, and simple to maintain.

I give a high point because I think that once SAP Business One is up and running, you have an ERP for a long time and your return of investment is acceptable.
We have been working with our consultant a lot [this] year and this helped us prepare and install SAP Business One. The support is minimum when the pre-analysis is well done. Anyway, in case of issue, their reply is always efficient.
SAP Business One provides a comprehensive and sophisticated financial system that also easily extends to add the functions of a true ERP system including modules for production, HR, CRM, and MRP. I think it represents the company's small to midsize enterprise offering.

Some important benefits of choosing SAP Business One is that it is a complete [set of] small-business essentials in a single system and it helps you to save money for implementation.
