Overall Satisfaction with SAP Commerce Cloud

While working with other SAP products, in our company we handled the integration of a SAP Commerce Cloud instance in a pre-existing SAP ecosystem, composed mainly by Customer Data Cloud and HANA for logistics/invoicing. The website was a B2C e-commerce for retail. The integrations included backend processes and a frontend website.

Pros

  • Integration with other SAP products
  • UX and navigation
  • Nice set of out-of-the-box fefatures

Cons

  • Pricing
  • Some payment methods are not supported by default
  • In some cases troubleshooting from SAP is required
  • The e-commerce was a new channel for our customer
  • Time to market in 6 months ( including content generation )
SAP Commerce Cloud has a very intuitive backend, especially easy to explain to someone with prior knowledge of an e-commerce platform, which allows for a lot of customizations in the order process. The frontend and CMS side however lacks a little bit.
Better, native integration with other SAP products and almost the same functionalities. Less time spent in integrations means more time available for customization and training.

If in your ecosystem you already have some SAP products SAP Commerce Cloud is the perfect solution for you. It's possible to integrate with many other solutions but you won't have the same easy and seamless integration you'll get with other SAP products.
