Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

We use Scale to run all the virtual servers in our environment, including Windows file servers, active directory, DNS, and Exchange. We also have a DR cluster attached where we replicate all of those servers. This allows us, as a smaller company, to save on the cost of physical servers and have a reliable virtual environment.
  • Ease of use - initial setup is very simple, and setting up and using virtual machines through their GUI is even simpler.
  • Customer Support - super fast response times, and very knowledgeable staff. I wish all support teams I deal with were as good as Scale.
  • Scaleability - adding new nodes is a breeze.
  • Difficult to resize virtual hard drives.
Scale's support is by far the best support department I've dealt with in my many years of IT. Response times are very quick, and their staff is very knowledgeable.
The most important business-critical application we run on HC3 is Exchange. Everyone knows how important e-mail is in today's business environment. I fully trust in our HC3 environment to keep it, along with our other critical applications running 100% of the time.
  • The ROI has been fantastic - saved us thousands of dollars in licensing and hardware costs.
  • Ease of use has saved massive amounts of time in setup and management.
We migrated from a VMware environment - Scale HC3 is a much simpler, easier to use, and cost-effective solution for a company of our size.
With a combination of great pricing, ease of use, top-notch support, and scalability, Scale Computing really hits the mark for the small and medium business market. They really make things a lot easier for companies with minimal IT staff.

The Scale HC3 user interface is very simple and intuitive. Creating VM's is a breeze, and setting up snapshot schedules is also very simple. The settings menu is simple clearly labeled, making it easy to find everything without having to drill down several layers into a menu. The update process is as simple as it gets, with all the information for available updates right in the Update tab in the settings menu. Adding and editing users is done with a few keystrokes and a couple of mouse clicks. I have found nothing about the HC3 product that I would consider difficult.
I have had very few problems with any of our HC3 clusters. On one occasion however, we updated our main cluster and DR cluster and this caused a few of our VM's to have errors that I was unfamiliar with. I called in to open a support case and the knowledgeable support staff at Scale knew exactly what to do and had the clusters back to normal in no time.
