Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

[It's being used for] SANs, and ESX.

We replaced our entire data center with Scale HC3. It supports our all locations and departments. Our IT staff required zero training. We have gained valuable time now that we are no longer supporting a complex VMWare system with fiber switches, and ESX boxes.

Pros

  • Support. Support tickets are handled quickly.
  • System updates are fully automated.
  • Small footprint.
  • Simplified backups.

Cons

  • Backups. One to many is a big need for us. SQL, exchange agents would be helpful.
I have received fast helpful support every time I have created a ticket
  • Ease of budgeting
Scale was less expensive and delivered all of our needs.
Scale is well suited for a company with a small IT staff. It is not suited if you have operating systems that are not supported on KVM.

    Thanks for the review! On the backup comment, I wanted to make sure you are aware that we do have guest agents that will quiesce Windows VMs running Exchange and SQL when taking snapshots/cloning for replicating and exports.
