Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

As a reseller, we have implemented Scale Computing for private business organizations, non-profit, and schools across the whole org. The three primary concerns it solves is to provide high-availability, simplicity, and exceptional vendor support.
  • Business resiliency through high-availability of computing resources.
  • Simplicity of system configuration, monitoring, and management.
  • Exceptional customer support.
  • Virtual Machine start up control.
  • Virtual disk encryption using TPM.
  • Compute resource guarantees to VMs for performance.
Scale Computing technical and sales support is some of the best I've seen in the technology industry over my 20+ year career. They are US based (for US operations), timely, and knowledgeable.
We have run many line-of-business applications on Scale Computing including the below. Our experience with these critical applications has been good, however it's important to realize the impact of storage tier planning prior to deployment.

Microsoft RDS
Microsoft SQL
Microsoft Active Directory

Caterpillar – Terrain Grade Control Control

Jigsaw\Hexagon – MineOps Drilling and Blasting and Dispatch System

Alan Bradley\Rockwell – Plant operations\PLC

KACE – System Management and deployment

  • Decreased the cost of technical training for IT staff.
  • Increased the efficiency of IT staff.
  • Improved business resiliency during disruptions through VM replication.
VMware has significantly more complexity.
Nutanix no longer addressed the SMB market very well or edge-computing.

Scale Computing addresses both very well.
Scale Computing is well suited to any business vertical in the SMB and Mid-Enterprise market. I do not feel it's as well suited to Large-Enterprise yet except for edge-computing locations.
