Shopify - the best general e-commerce platform.

Overall Satisfaction with Shopify

I used Shopify as a freelance web developer and was very happy with it. I then suggested using it for a web company I worked for as a project manager. The company recommended it to clients along with a couple other e-commerce platforms.

Pros

  • Easy to customize template style and functionality
  • Lots of third party apps to enhance the platform
  • Excellent customer support

Cons

  • It would be nice to see even more flexibility with product options.
  • Faster lead conversion
  • More efficient store management
BigCommerce is the closest competitor. It is a little less expensive and has more flexible product options, but Shopify is more intuitive to use and more flexible with site styling and functionality.
I was very happy using Shopify for my company clients. I am no longer working with a company now so I do not currently have a reason to use Shopify.
Although it is more expensive than some e-commerce platforms, Shopify is an excellent tool for anyone doing a lot of business online.
