Overall Satisfaction with Sigma Computing
We utilize Sigma for internal reporting on client traffic and behavior, enabling us to understand the differences among various sectors and demographics. It is also used in an embedded context for client-facing reports on similar metrics.
Pros
- Data connections.
- High quality visualizations.
- Good documentation.
Cons
- PDF exports do not format well.
- Conditional display of visualizations or content blocks.
- Data sets are difficult to work with.
- It gives us compelling visualizations to back up business claims.
- Clients have 24/7 access to reports that were previously assembled and sent via email by our CS team.
- Improved ability to track progress against organizational and dept. KPIs.
I am not an expert in any of these, though from my brief exposure to Looker it felt like a steeper learning curve, more appropriate to companies with dedicated and skilled BI engineers, whereas Sigma (and Tableau, and Looker Studio) offer a quicker and more intuitive interface for smaller companies like ours without dedicated BI resources on staff.
