Overall Satisfaction with SimilarWeb PRO

SimilarWeb is at the forefront of every assessment Wiideman builds for a client, and sometimes for prospects. As an inbound marketing consultancy, our job is to find and address opportunities such as keyword ranking gaps in search engines, inbound link opportunities, as well as to measure share of voice in search results for an industry.

For our audits and research, we look at the following areas:
  1. Overall competitive landscape from paid and organic search
  2. Top-performing non-brand keywords
  3. Keyword gaps between client and competitors (my personal favorite tool)
  4. Seasonality trend in industry traffic
  5. Who the top competitors are in the industry
  6. Top-performing content competitors are using to attract inbound links
  7. Display network sources to inspire link-earning efforts
  8. Grasp the overall marketing mix of traffic from competitors and client
  9. Create a baseline of user engagement metrics such as bounce rates
From a sales standpoint, we use SimilarWeb for the following:
  1. Create a sense of deficit in traffic potential from search engines
  2. Help create a baseline market share analysis for key stakeholders
We can't imagine our business without SimilarWeb. The tools, the customer service, and the growing community are unparalleled to anything else on the market.

We actually still use each of these products for their own special features. However, none of them provide the industry-level insights SimilarWeb offers or trend analysis features that give us a competitive edge over the competition.

We also like the ability to use 300 competitors in a gap analysis versus other platforms that limit you to 3 or 10 competitors.

SimilarWeb PRO is fantastic for doing digital marketing competitive analysis.

For example, we work with a major breakfast franchise who seeks to increase visibility within Google and other search engines. During our annual refresh of what we call our SEO Strategic Plan, we leverage SimilarWeb PRO to find out where our client is not ranking well for mission-critical keywords, such as breakfast menu items (i.e. "pancakes near me") and broader opportunities such as "breakfast place in Anaheim, CA."

With these insights, extrapolated from 300 competitors who serve breakfast, we can compile a list of new pages to help them create over the next 12 months, allowing consumers to see the brand for queries they hadn't seen them for in the in past.
