Overall Satisfaction with Slack
We use slack for all internal communications; as a small company, it enables us to be transparent so that everyone can have an awareness of what's going on, breaking down any silos that might exist. As a consultancy, we also use it to communicate with clients to allow more immediate and less formal communications.
- Slack speeds communicating up.
- Slack enables transparent communications.
- Slack has flexibility to customize notifications so you can balance noise with focus.
- Slack enables you to keep important information top of mind (pin posts, set message reminders).
- Slack enables you to schedule sending messages so you can respect colleagues' work hours.
- If you have many channels, it can be hard to remember where you saw a post to get back to it.
- If other users don't know how to manage communications specifically for Slack, then it can get cluttered and disorganized.
- If a company uses both email and slack equally, it can duplicate effort and cause confusion where messages are sent – you need to create clear guidelines for your employees.
- Immediate communications.
- Channels to organize communications.
- Transparent communications.
- More efficient communications.
- Better access to information.
- More transparent communications.
We selected Slack over Teams because we don't use the other Microsoft Office 360 products; we use the Google suite to create/manage files Zoom for video conferencing, and Slack for communications. Microsoft Office 360 integrates a lot of these features and programs together for larger organizations who want a one-stop shop, but as a smaller company, we like the ability to pick and choose to create the best system of tools for us.
