Overall Satisfaction with Slack
Our organization uses Slack as an internal communication platform to quickly share ideas, files, and news with specific individuals and/or groups of people. We also use this as a secure link between external organizations when setting up partnerships. This is much better than email when it comes to needing responses in a timely manner.
Pros
- Mobile experience.
- Group messaging.
- File sharing.
Cons
- Intuitive out of office settings.
- Behind the scenes set up.
- New user onboarding.
- File sharing.
- Reviewing old messages.
- Searching by keywords.
- Group messages.
- + Internal communication has increased.
- + Partners can get in contact with our Partner Account Managers quickly.
- - Some individuals rely too heavily on Slack, while others don't use it at all (less of a platform issue and more of a user management issue).
Discord feels like Slack's little brother. It's just less professional. Slack seems to be the go-to for professional, quick messaging communication. Discord can become messy and get out of hand. Slack always feels clean and polished. If given a choice, I wouldn't move to Discord for work conversations and keep all of it on Slack.
