Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Slack is used in our org for most communication. It has replaced a lot of email threads (but not all). We use it for project specific, location specific, team specific, or other kinds of groups. It's also how we 1-on-1 DM each other.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Instant messaging
Large group communication
Replacing email for nearly all use-cases

Cons

Stricter induction of new hires to Slack etiquette would be great.
Amount of channels can get overwhelming after a while - prompting users to archive or groom membership would be good.

Saved lots of time searching for info
Saved lots of time trawling through emails
Everyone is up to date with constant comms

It's intuitive and easy to use.

Microsoft Teams

Better in every way than teams. Far more intuitive, works without any glitches, more well thought out.

It's better than email in nearly every situation. It's great for project/team communication. It's intuitive to use, for nearly everyone. Email may still be better for large group comms (i.e. company wide).
