Overall Satisfaction with Slack
I've used Slack for several years at the point and across multiple orgs. It has helped for project management when multiple people and departments are involved. Also, I love the integrations with external apps like Salesforce and Google to drive consistency within Slack without ever having to leave the Slack app.
Pros
- Internal communications
- Grouping for project management
- Integrations with other software commonly used.
Cons
- Sometimes I wish adding external stakeholders was easier to know the functionality without compromising our internal Slack.
- Helps me communicate and get answers in a timely manner.
- Helpful in looking up historical keywords or questions to self serve me as a seller
- Low adoption by software laggard internally can prohibit timeliness.
Slack is hands down the better tool, primarily because of all the easy to use integrations with apps like Google, Salesforce, and others. That way I can use Slack to look at multiple software we use plus collaborate internally without ever having to leave the application. Other tools are typically silo'd.
