Overall Satisfaction with Slack
We use Slack for all our team chat communications and day to day operations. As we have many different teams and cross team dynamics, Slack offers an easy to use real time communication, file sharing, and group calls in an easy to use packaged application or web client.
Pros
- Real time chat messaging
- Private and public channels
- Huddles for voice and video calls
Cons
- Private channels can't be made public, even by the channel owner.
- Channels cannot be made into group chats
- The Slack application does occasionally crash or cause other system issues though quite rare
- Slack has given us a big positive return on investment due to how much we rely on in for day to day and critical action items
Slack is very good for tech stack focused businesses with the automations and notification controls that can be set.
