Overall Satisfaction with Slack

Slack is used as day to day communication in my organisation. Slack helps me communicate with my colleagues every day and also if they face any issue I can huddle them along with that In a huddle 2 people can share their screen and also I can also use the pencil icon to draw on the screen. The Slack workflows helps me in automating task such as getting weekly reminder for my timesheet monthly reminder for attendance regularisation also I have created my own workflow to get weekly expenses and linked it with google sheet. In Slack, I have also explored the Agentforce Agents Actions. I have also integrated Jira and Outlook to get their notification and summary in a single app, which save my laptop RAM. Also the UI is quite good and easy to use.

Pros

  • Slack workflows which helps to automate day to day or weekly tasks
  • Slack Huddle which helps to communicate within the app and also the chat is saved in thread
  • Slack To Do Lists which helps to manage small projects
  • Slack Canvas to keep the whole team on the same page

Cons

  • Slack workflows not having if and else condition or for loop like Salesforce flows
  • Slack to schedule a meeting at a particular time
  • Privacy issues as I recently got to know that Slack admins can view private group chats
  • Slack helps my company communicate faster and securely like it reduces my time to search people on teams
  • SlackAI feature is very like I can get the summary of the whole group and what they were having conversation for that week when I am on leave
  • Slack workflows helps automate many task, which would have consumed my time.
I have given this rating as I have extensively used Slack for more than a year and I have found most of the features useful along with Slack apps, which helps to integrate with many apps which I use in day-to-day life and also It automatically opens a small popup in the chat whenever the links related to that apps are used
The UI is difficult to understand and also to find a particular chat it is difficult to search in Teams. Also Slack has cool features like Slack Workflows and To do lists and Slack Canvas which makes life more easier. Slack apps to integrate existing app and also I use Slack to store some data in chat and also it is perfectly synced with other devices

As I am a developer I have experienced that connecting with people on Slack is faster, then calling them on teams. Also on Slack. It is easier for me to maintain the conversations.Also there are cool features like Slack workflows and to do list and canvas. Also, the global search helps me to find chat from a particular person in a group.
