Overall Satisfaction with Slack
We use Slack to chat, share updates, and collaborate on company processes. It’s also a great place to brainstorm ideas and get creative together remotely and asynchronously. I’ve been a big fan of Slack and have been using it for a while now. I’ve been working remotely for eight years now, and Slack has been a game-changer for communication and building a strong remote team.
Pros
- Great integrations
- Flexibility in channels
- Overall adaptability to external processes - it can be customised and designed to be a hub for gathering information from various sources.
Cons
- Perhaps building project management/tracking systems that are more visual and user-friendly. I’d love to give one a try, but I haven’t been dedicating enough time to building it out fully. I’ve tried, but I’ve always hit a snag that makes me want to explore other options.
- The biggest ROI has been time saved especially compared to long email threads and the hassle of digging back through inboxes to find information. Conversations and resources are easy to access, which makes decision making much faster.
- It’s also had a huge impact on culture and community because it's a space where personalities can come through in a way that in email they never could, which has been key in building stronger team connections and a more engaged, collaborative culture across the firms I’ve worked at.
