Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor

We use SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor to monitor servers and networking equipment in our two physical and two cloud-based data centers, and remote locations. It lets us know when servers are having hardware issues or network connectivity issues quickly via email alerts and our monitoring dashboards. The notifications are precise and accurate.

SolarWinds was easier to install and configure and their pricing model was much more flexible for how our on-demand services utilize the hardware. SolarWinds gave us what we were looking for for our environment at about the price we wanted to pay.
If you have a smaller IT team, you will spend less time physically checking devices by using the Server & Application Monitor. The alerts are a quick read, and you can track down the issue and starting point of the failure using the visual dashboard and notification. It saves us a ton of time finding where the issue started.

Yes - Support is a valued part of our relationship with SolarWinds. Their staff addresses the issue presented, finds the best and quickest way to resolve an issue and follows-up with emails and phone calls to make sure that everything is working. I've had two support issues with them and both were one-call resolutions.
We had an issue recently where the dashboard was not displaying properly. The support agent walked me through rebuilding the configuration file, and when it failed, we did a remote session. Turns out it was an issue with our database, that was hosted on a different machine, and the agent gave me, via email, very detailed instructions on how to rebuild the configuration once the database server was online, then followed up via phone two hours later to make sure it was working; and emailed two days later to verify it was all still working. Very thorough.
