Splashtop for IT
Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop
This has been a good replacement for TeamViewer. It is more affordable, and I can remotely turn on some workstations. It has a few glitches from time to time, but overall, it works well. Would recommend it to people looking to get rid of TeamViewer's high cost.
Pros
- I am able to see who is logged into a machine
- I can see operating systems easy
- I can see IP address at a glance
- I can get it to remote turn on some workstations
Cons
- Disconnects a lot
- Does not refresh automatically
- Remote start up only works on some workstations
- This saved us money over TeamViewer
- Easy to give our onsite workers access
- Easy to add license
I love that a lot of the information I need is simple to see on the dashboard. Remote options and cold booting help a lot. I hope that the cold boot gets better, as it works about 45% of the time. I like the grouping and easy install link. They make it easy.
I can create a new group and download the link on a jump drive. I send my team out with this link, and it takes a minute to install and puts it in the right group. This cuts our install time for remote access. Time is money, so we like this feature.
Yes - We used TeamViewer. The cost got so high that it was not a good option anymore. I tried other remote desktops that did not replace it effectively. Splashtop is close to fitting all my needs. I hope the delay improves in the future, but I can deal with it for the price.
