Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop

Splashtop is new to our company, and our IT department is having us give it a try instead of our previous remote access software and process. Slapshot is theoretically more secure than what we have done previously. Right now, engineering is going to be the guinea pig for this due to the number of employees needing to work remotely.

Pros

  • Splashtop is very user friendly and easy to understand.
  • Splashtop seems to be pretty fast compared to other remote access software.
  • Easier to communicate with co-workers using Splashtop.

Cons

  • Some connectivity issues, not sure that that is Splashtops fault or issue, could be my internet connection.
  • a little harder to find the tools I need, not in super obvious spots or locations I am familiar with.
  • I am pretty new to Splashtop so it is hard to say if it is my own learning curve or the software.
  • Great bang for your buck.
  • Very fast connection.
  • Top-notch security.
It was pretty easy, though I had to connect first with the IT department where I work to see what I needed to do. The Splashtop program was fairly easy to find, and I got help from the support team. Our IT department was also able to connect with support easily.
As far as I can tell, the Splahstop hardware seems very secure, and there are fewer steps I need to take in order to get to my remote worksite. The device verification worked well with no issues, and nothing as far as programs or progress was hung up or stalled.
My onboarding could have gone a lot smoother if I had been provided with proper training and education through my company. As far as the Splashtop secure remote access hardware, it was pretty user-friendly, so even without any prior onboarding through work, it was still pretty clear and easy to understand and use.
Yes - With Cisco and a VPN, our IT department is looking for as many ways to lock down access to the computers and network due to two previous virus/ransomware attacks. They are also on a very tight budget and have little time for training anyone on using new programs. Splashtop seems to meet their needs well.

Do you think Splashtop delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Splashtop's feature set?

Yes

Did Splashtop live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Splashtop go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Splashtop again?

Yes

Splashtop is very easy to connect to and utilize for remote work; however, unless given specific training and instructions, it could be a little difficult to navigate to the tools needed to operate effectively. The price of the software is very good compared to other remote desktop hardware; however, when working with large programs, it seemed to run fairly slowly.
