Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise
We're a small retail office that, in addition to office supplies, sells and services multifunction devices with a service area that encompasses a large portion of our state and parts of neighboring states. As with most network-attached devices, the problem isn't always with the machine but rather the connection to the machine. With Splashtop, we are able to remote into other computers to troubleshoot and many times fully resolve issues without having to physically visit the site. With one-way drives that can reach over 100 miles, this amounts to a not inconsequential recovery of otherwise lost productivity. Splashtop more than pays for its self each month we have had it in service and we are happy to use it for this purpose alone. In addition to the above, we also use unattended access so techs can log in and troubleshoot our own business network from our iPads while on the road. Having unattended access pre-installed on some higher volume customers is a big help to us as well. All in all, we're very pleased with Splashtop. It's robust, reliable, and aggressively priced.
Pros
- Easy, customizable, SOS Deployment
- Unattended Access
- Reasonably Priced
- Reliable
Cons
- Pinch to zoom on iPad can sometimes lead to un-intended clicks/highlights
- White label pricing tier would be nice to remove all Splashtop branding
- Single click to cycle through monitors would be convenient on mobile devices
- Option to make collapsable toolbar along bottom of mobile devices non-collapsing
- Technician's time not taken up in unnecessary drives to sites anymore
I'm not that up on the security side of things given our area of expertise is focused mostly on multifunction devices as opposed to computers. As such, however, I do trust that Splashtop's end-to-end security and especially their two-factor authentication is very good.
I was able to get up and go with Splashtop very quickly and with little real knowledge of where to start. Once a few basic things were set up, I quickly deployed the unattended access to the computers I wanted it on and set up a link on our website for the SOS remote support feature.
Yes - Prior to Splashtop, we were using TeamViewer. Its pricing model was just too high for our office needs.

Using Splashtop Enterprise
2 - One primarily uses Splashtop to remotely access their work computer from one office while at the other. It wasn’t meant to be used that way for that user, however, they just naturally fell into that use case. The other uses it more as it was intended, meaning they remotely access multiple computers for remote support for clients within and without the company.
1 - The user mainly uses Splashtop to access computers to give support to the local network while they are on the road or otherwise away from the office. The secondary use is to offer support to customers outside the company to avoid the need to travel to service said customers onsite.
- Unattended Remote Access of Interoffice Computers
- Unattended Remote Access of Client Computers
- One Off/On Demand Remote Access of Client Computers
- Unattended Access to Client computers to support items on client networks
- On demand access to client computers to support items on client networks
- File transfer without VPN
- Remote installation of devices on client networks
- Remote Printing
- Bi-directional computer access
Evaluating Splashtop Enterprise and Competitors
- Price
- Product Features
- Product Usability
Splashtop offers the most “bang for your buck”. It has a rich feature set that would have you think it would cost a lot more than it does. We came from Team Viewer, which is similar to Splashtop in almost every way save for they cost nearly twice as much.
I am not sure we would change our process. We took a diligent approach, seeking advice of reputable internet websites, and using the trials that were available to us. As a result, we have been very happen with our decision to go with Splashtop as our software service provider.
