Overall Satisfaction with Squarespace

Squarespace is used for our corporate website which we use to get information out about our firm. Additionally, we generate leads by way of landing pages that offer white papers, newsletters and analysis tools.

Squarespace solved an issue we had of purchasing, maintaining and paying for support for 3-8 software applications needed for our old Wordpress platform. We also no longer worry about frequent updates which would break our template and our plug-ins which allows us to focus on our content and lead generation.
  • Squarespace offers a true editor that allows you to see what you are going to get. There's no need to preview or to visit the website. You have a perfect sense of what you are putting together as you edit your pages.
  • Squarespace is turnkey. It has all the security and updating in their hands. It's behind the scenes and Squarespace doesn't need to communicate to us at all about security or updates that we need to apply.
  • Squarespace allows us to design very well laid out content with amazing base templates without being too rigid.
  • Squarespace has had fantastic customer support when we've needed it but we don't often need their support.
  • I'd like to see a few more business-centric templates. They have some good ones but the majority are for consumer websites or design type of businesses.
  • Although we have decent access to the code and can inject our own code, we'd like an easier way to setup events such as tracking buttons being pushed for Analytic goals.
  • We get all the functionality that we had with Wordpress and more at a fraction of the cost. We were able to let our maintenance lapse on Optimize Press, Gravity Forms and Yoast SEO. While we don't have the exacting control of page that these 3 packages gave us, we no longer worry about upgrades, security patching and the function natively in Squarespace is excellent.
  • We also have no fear keeping our content up to date. Since one can edit and see their results in real time, there is no real fear in making drastic changes. For our older websites, due to plug-ins and the inability to see our design in real time, we found ourselves leaving our content to get stale.
While we lose some customization ability, we find that using Wordpress really requires some heavy attention to the security and update aspects. We chose Squarespace to avoid being hacked, applying frequent updates and not being timid to make major structure and visual changes to our website whenever we want.

We feel that Squarespace allows us to run our business, focus on the critical tasks and keep our site content up to date due to the ease of access and their WYSIWIG editor.
Squarespace is great for a corporate presence website that relies on providing beautiful content. It also allows for nicely flowing landing pages that are easy to design and modify. The system is turn key and you need only to employ a designer and copywriter. No longer is a technical resource needed to fix broken plug-ins or troubleshoot issues during upgrades.

Squarespace may not be suitable if you are in need of heavy customization of the .css or code.
