Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

I have used it personally to conduct screen-share or remote viewing sessions. I have used it also professionally to engage with colleagues located remotely.

Pros

  • The setup required to get up and running is very minimal.
  • In comparison to other tools, this software does not require any port forwarding or network configuration to set up a communication session.
  • Its feature for switching which computer has control is pretty useful.

Cons

  • The software doe not offer backward compatibility very well. Both parties have to be on the same version of the software to make it work correctly.
  • Without any form of IP blocking there is a potential for security vulnerability.
  • It has removed the need for buying a third party tool for remote conferencing.
It's really useful for carrying out remote debugging sessions. It can be used for teleconferencing as well. It's free for personal use with certain limitations.
