Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

Teamviewer is used for accessing BYOD users in satellite locations. It is easily implemented and problems are quickly solved. We are in a mostly Mac environment; sometimes we get to deal with Windows and this is really flexible. This keeps our users productive with minimum impact to their workflow or hassles for Support.

Pros

  • It is easily added 'on the fly' to a user's workstation.
  • It does not affect the workstation's performance.
  • It is reasonably secure and convenient.

Cons

  • I would love to see a pricing structure that works for SMB's
  • While I am wishing, I'd love to be able to work across logins like Apple's Remote Desktop. (not likely!)
  • Teamviewer is easily integrated on the fly which allow us to keep our remote users going.
  • Teamviewer doesn't tie up a lot of resources.
  • Support personnel are able to quickly resolve issues remotely eliminating transportation expenses.
I use both. ARD handles many scenarios which TeamViewer does not. But, TeamViewer can be installed 'on the fly' and solves many user issues quickly. I also work withWebEx and Logmein. Webex especially has lots of issues that affect basic usability that are not issues in TeamViewer. We work primarily with Macs, and still are stuck dealing with Windows. It handles both.
It is great for general support. It is easily installed by a remote user who can host sessions with little instruction.

it isn't really up for extensive system maintenance outside of a single login. Apple Remote Desktop is the place to go for this. Of course, I can use Teamviewer to install ARD.
