Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

TeamViewer (TV) is used by third-party vendors to provide support. For example, if I call company X for an issue they will connect remotely to provide support to troubleshoot their products. It has also been used by employees to gain remote access to their desktops.
  • Remote Support
  • Quick Access
  • Multi platform Helpdesk support
  • Licensing
  • Versioning
  • Dual Monitor Support
  • Multiple users
  • Security concerns
  • Costly licensing models
  • Locked to an older version if you don’t upgrade which requires support vendors to use a specific version of their software which can lead to confusion
  • Security and data breach concerns
  • Not suitable for multi user Remote Desktop access
  • Great tool for help desk and technicians that’s fast and reliable
I did not select TeamViewer over its competition. Its licensing options priced it out of competition for my needs. It also lacked features available from other products such as dual monitor, seamless remote printing, and HD video.
TV works well for direct remote support scenarios received from a technician and unattended remote access for individuals. It is less appropriate for large user environments where employees require direct access to their computers remotely. Their licensing model doesn’t accommodate multi-users cost-effectively and lacks features.
