Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

Deployment process was done through engaging our IT department with a view of achieving compatibility with existing applications. The main training for the faculty and students was organized to encourage them to become familiar with the new software and its functions as well which also ensured a successful transfer to online classes.
Basically in our education institution we use TeamViewer for performing remote training and other IT related issues,problems and assistance required by faculty as well as students. It makes it possible for the instructors to display what they are doing on their computers, teach the use of applications, and troubleshoot the learners’ problems in the process.

Pros

  • TeamViewer’s abilities to share the screen and to highlight on the Web conferencing platform improve the interactivity of the lessons.
  • This makes it possible for students to engage from different devices of their preference since it is compatible with different devices.
  • They include amongst them the possibility of recording sessions in order that interests students who want to follow lessons at their pace.

Cons

  • Pre-recorded content often run into issues regarding the synchronization of the recorded audio and the actions displayed on the classroom’s whiteboard or document camera, and this can be disruptive to the instruction process.
  • Several of these audio related problems if solved would enhance the quality of distance education delivery.
  • TeamViewer has also brought ease in distance teaching by allowing the university to connect to students in areas far from our central location to offer them courses.
  • This has helped in expansion of enrollment and flexibility in our programs and courses offered in this University.

As a web-based application, TeamViewer is ideal in education institutions that need to offer lessons online, supervise students, provide individual or group tutorials and lessons, and offer support to learners. Nevertheless, to institutions with limited IT equipment, the implementation could prove to prove a bit difficult in the setup and recurrent maintenance.
