Overall Satisfaction with Raiser's Edge

Raisers Edge is used by alumni relations/advancement (one department). It is not used university-wide. This database holds all our alumni contact information.

Pros

  • Database management.
  • Integration with BBNC.

Cons

  • Not user-friendly.
  • Query/export are difficult to create.
  • I'm unsure; we just added a goal component to events, but that is a new feature for us.
  • I cannot speak to how it has or hasn't helped fundraisers.
Our university already was using Raisers Edge before I started here five years ago. However, I have used Kindful in the past and thought their system was more user-friendly.

I would not recommend The Raisers Edge. Please note this review is for Raisers Edge and not RE NXT. I've worked in other non-profits that have used more functional and diverse database management systems. This seems like what most universities always stick with, but it does get the job done at the end of the day. It just takes a while and a lot of training to figure out all the intricacies.
