Overall Satisfaction with Thinkific

We have a course that's hosted on Thinkific. It currently consists of a series of videos, a series of assessments and quizzes and a downloadable workbook. We're transforming it into an interactive course that combines all three elements into one unified package so the the user experience is improved, we hope.

Pros

  • Hosts video
  • Simple assessments
  • Basic community

Cons

  • Course builder is primitive
  • Analytics need to be more granular
  • Needs better info on the difference between the regular and plus versions
  • Cohorts were disappointed in the functionality so we had to rebuild
  • On the other hand it delivers a basic course experience which met our needs in the past
  • In redesigning the course we made it much better
It gives you just enough functionality to deliver a basic course, with a basic layout and basic assessments. But because these limitations are no longer acceptable for us we had to use the 3rd party course creator which caused a delay in getting the revised course out. But it does the simple things ok
This review is only for the course building functionality. We moved to Articulate 360 for the course building portion of the program because it's way more feature rich and have been please with it's capabilities. We've yet to investigate other LMS options because we've been so focused on the rebuild of the product

Do you think Thinkific delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Thinkific's feature set?

No

Did Thinkific live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Thinkific go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Thinkific again?

No

I've been disappointed in the analytics because they are just not granular enough for our needs. I also had to use a third party authoring tool to create a whole new interactive course because their course builder is primitive and didn't meet our needs. If you need a basic system then they're fine.
