Overall Satisfaction with Tipalti

Tipalti is part of our day-to-day operations for AP and bookkeeping. We use it for processing, recording, bookkeeping, and general managing of the AP department. Usually, there are 2-3 different departments involved in the approval flow of invoices; this ensures that no invoice gets recorded with no oversight/approval from department leads. A user can observe who has reviewed/approved the invoice on the email screen without the need to reach out directly and inquire personally.

Pros

  • Simplicity - no need to log into our ERP as everything is manageable from within the email itself.
  • Intuitive - approve, decline (send back to AP), leave a comment are the few options available so there is no confusion about this.
  • Good OCR - crucial.

Cons

  • Integration with Intacct—To pull the invoice, you need to log into Tipalti itself, as the ERP, in our case, does not provide for this, adding a little friction.
  • Need to continuously verify each time you log in. Makes this part tedious.
  • AP optimization.
  • Approval flow management.
  • Vendor management.
I've used similar products, and Tipalti does meet my needs and expectations.
Better OCR, which is crucial: the ability to work from your email inbox without having to log in elsewhere.

Generally speaking, it's very well suited, as this product will meet your needs; it allows for optimization of the AP approval flow, as you can approve invoices directly from your email while checking key information. However, an accountant/bookkeeper will find it a pain to continuously log into a new website just to pull the invoices rather than integrating Tipalti with our ERP and enabling the invoices to be pulled directly from the ERP itself.
