Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

Our CSS is very nice and does usually get us the answer we need, but sometimes it takes a while. She's not as knowledgeable as our previous CSS. Our HCC is so new, we haven't had a lot of contact with her. Our previous HCC was knowledgeable, local, but very hard to get a hold of at times.
TriNet is our HR department, they manage our payroll, employee benefits, leaves, HR issues etc. All employees pick their benefits out on the site, request time off, and can check their payroll with TriNet. The managers use it to approve time off, fill out I9 information for new hires, and such. I am the liaison between TriNet and the employees for issues and I assist payroll with making sure that things are correct in regards of employees that are new, on leave, etc.

Pros

  • Giving us a number of options for benefits
  • Has an HR or employee labor expert to help with issues
  • Payroll

Cons

  • The new Beta site still has a lot of bugs, for example when changing someone's pay amount in the Beta site you can't add cents to it, which when doing raises based on a percent happens a lot - I like what the Beta site will be once bugs are fixed.
  • I entered a Rehire at the beginning of May and it went through as active on our end of TriNet Passport, but TriNet didn't have records that he had been rehired, and it took a number of days before it was resolved.
  • Our TriNet reps for HCC and CS aren't always accessible or have the information/answers we need when we contact them. Our new HCC is in Massachusetts and we don't have any locations there. I feel like it would be more helpful to have someone at least in our state, even better if it was our HQ city.
  • Going on leave and return from leave always seems to cause problems for our team.
  • Definitely all of those things listed above.
For expenses and time tracking we found other products that more closely fit our needs.
We are a fairly small company and it's nice to be able to offer our employees a wide selection of insurance options, more than we would have access to as just our company. With ACA our employees would probably be stuck with healthcare.gov options. We don't have to employ full time someone with HR knowledge, but have access to it whenever we do need it. Direct deposit payroll is great and we love the PTO request center.
